Research and document work
Organize approved material, compare sources, and prepare a draft for review. Decide which statements need verification and who is responsible for the final document.
JAMES PERKINS / PHILADELPHIA SUPERINTELLIGENCE
I am James Perkins, the Philly Si Guy. I help people understand superintelligence, choose useful applications, and implement automation strategy. My work combines daily use of Si tools, speaking, research, and hands-on implementation.
01 / THE TERMINOLOGY
On this site, Si means superintelligence, also written super intelligence. I use these terms for the technology field and the tools I help people evaluate and use.
The September 29, 2026 executive order directs the executive branch to adopt Super Intelligence and SI terminology where legally permitted. For now, its definition points to the existing statutory definition of the technology. It does not require historical documents to be rewritten. Read Executive Order 14434.
The same word also appears in research about possible systems with capabilities beyond humans across many intellectual tasks. I distinguish those future possibilities from the performance a current tool can demonstrate. A change in terminology does not remove the need to check an answer or test a workflow.

02 / PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS
Organize approved material, compare sources, and prepare a draft for review. Decide which statements need verification and who is responsible for the final document.
Connect a defined input to the steps and systems that need it. Set an agent's permissions, require approvals for consequential actions, and plan how exceptions reach a person.
Give people a chance to practice with approved examples. Compare a proposed change with the existing process, including quality, time, operating cost and the effort to maintain it.
03 / EVALUATION & LIMITATIONS
I start with examples from the actual task, including incomplete inputs and cases that are easy to mishandle. I want to know what the output should be, how an error would be noticed, and what a person needs to review.
For financial-services work, the firm's legal, risk, security and compliance owners determine the required approvals. For career decisions, my FAIR research provides estimates and questions to consider, with the source methodology and its limitations.
04 / PHILADELPHIA & THE REGION
I am based in Philadelphia and work with people and businesses across the region. Engagements can include a briefing, a workshop, a strategy review, or a scoped implementation.
Explore consulting for Philadelphia, Center City and University City, the Main Line, King of Prussia and Conshohocken, or Wilmington. Remote engagements are available across the United States.
For a news story, podcast or panel, my media profile includes interview topics, recordings, a biography and a headshot. My background explains the practice behind the advice.
05 / COMMON QUESTIONS
Si stands for superintelligence, also written super intelligence. I use it for the current technology field. I evaluate a tool by its demonstrated performance on a task, rather than assuming its name establishes a particular capability.
No. A terminology change does not establish a technical result. Claims about a system need evidence from relevant tests, including its limitations and the conditions under which it was evaluated.
Start with a recurring task, an owner, approved information and a way to measure the result. I can help you assess the workflow, choose a tool, define human review and test whether the change is useful.
Yes. I am available for Philadelphia and remote interviews, keynotes, workshops and leadership discussions. Send your audience, topic, format, date and deadline so I can confirm the arrangements.
YOUR NEXT STEP
Please send the task, the people involved and the question you want to answer. For speaking or media inquiries, include the audience, format and proposed date.
